Elim House is situated just a minute from the bustling village of Bowness and Lake Windermere. Judith and Steve offer you a warm welcome to Elim House, serving fresh home cooking in a pleasant atmosphere. There are a wide variety of shops and restaurants in the area as well as a cinema, all within easy strolling distance of the house. Lake Windermere is only a ten minute walk away. Here you will find an abundance of water sports for the energetic, or if you prefer to take things easier, a cruise on one of the lake steamers will enable you to take in the wonderful scenery of the area. Elim House was built in 1849 as a gentleman's residence and as such is full of character, and has it's own little idiosyncracies, in fact it still has the stable room where the horses for the owner's carriage were kept. Some guest bedrooms are in an annexe that used to be a hayloft but has been brought into the 21st century with great creativity. Some rooms have beams and some are on the second floor. Please note that as it is not a custom built hotel there is no lift.
